Job Opportunity: American Sign Language Interpreter

LTC Language Solutions is looking for skilled, freelance, contract American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter in the Chicago, IL area.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, in-person sign language interpretation at various client locations in and around Chicago, Illinois. Opportunity for virtual assignments as well.
• Accurately interpret in various medical and community settings.
• Ensure language access is provided.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Choose your own assignments for interpretation.
• Strong understanding of sign language and Deaf culture.

Requirements

• Interpreting certifications, preferred
• Minimum of 2 years medical interpreting experience preferred
• Minimum of 1-2 years of interpreting experience required
• Ability to keep accurate records
• Bachelor's Degree in American Sign Language (preferred)
• 2+ years of ASL interpreting experience
• Passionate about providing language access
• NIC certification or higher (preferred)
• Follow RID Interpreter Code of Ethics
• Comply with all state, local, and federal laws and regulations regarding privacy and confidentiality of medical information, including HIPAA.

This is a 1099, contract, freelance sign language interpreter position. You will work as needed and choose your own assignments.
