Job Description

Join a compassionate healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant I in a medical surgical setting, working on a per diem variable schedule. This role involves providing essential patient care, observing and reporting any changes in patient conditions, and maintaining a clean and well-stocked patient environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with patient admissions, including orientation to the unit and equipment.
• Respond promptly to patient needs, either directly or by notifying appropriate staff.
• Support the nursing care plan by performing delegated patient care tasks.
• Ensure patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
• Manage access to medication and supply rooms to retrieve necessary items.
• Participate actively in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
• Engage in educational and performance improvement activities.
• Perform waived testing and maintain required skills per unit competency.
• Demonstrate responsibility for customer satisfaction and patient throughput.

Education and Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
• Current registration with the appropriate state nursing assistant registry.

Experience and Skills

• No prior experience required; training provided.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to read and understand English.
• Flexibility in work tasks and schedules.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of age-specific patient care considerations.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work variable shifts.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and turning patients.
• Visual and auditory acuity to observe patients effectively.
• Exposure to blood and body fluids with appropriate safety precautions.
