Job description
We are seeking a full-time experienced construction estimator to join our team. Our company has been specializing in finishing contracting for nearly 15 years. As our construction estimator, you will play a crucial role in our organization by accurately estimating the costs of new project painting, drywall, carpentry, framing and large scale commercial renovation projects. Your expertise will contribute to the success of our projects and help us deliver high-quality results to our clients. As we are a small construction company there will be variety in your position including site supervision as required. Successful candidates will be adaptable and detail oriented. You will work alongside a small office team in Lake Country.
Duties:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and blueprints to determine project requirements.
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop comprehensive project proposals
- Conduct site visits to gather information and assess project scope
- Research and evaluate potential suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and availability
- Negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive bids
- Utilize construction estimating software such as Planswift, Autocad or Bluebeam and to streamline the estimation process
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and project documentation
- Assist in project management activities & site meetings as needed
Experience:
- Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial or residential construction projects required
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
- Proficiency in using construction estimating software
- Excellent mathematical skills for accurate calculations and pricing analysis
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, clients, vendors.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
