We're currently looking for an Occasional Babysitter in Torrance, CA 90503
A lovely family in the South Bay is looking for an occasional babysitter for their cheerful and energetic 8-month-old, starting immediately. They're seeking backup care 1-3 times per month for a variety of needs, including daycare closures, date nights, and to run errands. Care could be needed weekdays from 9am-4pm, Fridays or Saturdays from 6pm-10pm, or Saturday or Sunday from 11am-4pm.

The family can typically provide a 1-2 weeks' notice for their backup care needs, though occasional last-minute care (with next-day notice) may arise. Those applying do not need to be available for all of the family's requests, but should understand that there are no guaranteed weekly or monthly hours for this position .

Mom works from home and will be present during daytime weekday coverage. Their little one loves music, being outdoors, and is currently beginning to crawl and pull up to stand. A friendly large dog is also part of the household-no pet care is required beyond letting him outside. The ideal sitter will be attentive, adaptable, and engaging with infants.

  • Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm
  • Friday + Saturday, 6pm-10pm
  • Saturday + Sunday, 11am-4pm
• Compensation: $25-$30 per hour

Upcoming days/times care is needed:

• Thursday, July 24th | 9am-4pm
• Friday July 25th | 9am-4pm
• Monday, July 28th | 9am-4pm
• Tuesday, July 29th | 9am-4pm
• Wednesday, July 30th | 9am-4pm
• Thursday, July 31st | 9am-4pm

Responsibilities:

• Bottle + solid feeding
• Diaper changing
• Driving child; park visits (can utilize family's vehicle)
• Light tidying related to the child
• Stroller walks

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of paid professional infant care experience
• UTD on CPR certification or willing to renew prior to start
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Able to provide two childcare related references from a paid, professional setting
• Must be able to pass a criminal background + social media screening
• Comfortable with large dogs
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record + valid driver's insurance

Compensation:

This position pays $25-$30 per hour, and the family is looking for intermittent care as needed.
