Adecco Medical & Science is seeking an Oral Surgery Assistant in Charlotte, North Carolina! This role is in person / on site. Please read below and apply today for consideration.

Type: Three-month contract, opportunity for extension or fulltime offer

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7am to 5pm

Pay: $20.00 to $22.00 an hour

Responsibilities of the Oral Surgery Assistant:

· Sets up for procedures with appropriate instruments, equipment, and supplies

· Assists surgeons during surgical procedures, including suctioning, retracting, passing instruments, and providing airway support

· Maintains sterile field during designated procedures

· Circulates on surgical procedures, completing necessary EMR (electronic medical record) entries, paperwork, logs, etc.

· Performs other procedures as directed (capture radiographs, take/pour dental impressions, capture intraoral digital scans, remove

· surgical splints, fit splints, remove sutures, place dry socket packs, etc.)

· Prepares patient and room set-up for appropriate procedure/exam

· Reviews post-op instructions with surgery patients/patient escorts

· Collects and enters comprehensive and precise information into the EMR

· Updates patient medications and allergies at each patient encounter

· Participates in crash cart training to become familiar with emergency medications and supplies

Qualifications for the Oral Surgery Assistant:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Completion of limited Dental Assisting program, OR 1-2 years’ experience in general dentistry/oral surgery practice

· Current BLS certification

· Infection control training

· Sterile processing certification/experience

· Dental Radiography certification

· Successful completion of approved nitrous oxide course

· IV/Phlebotomy certification

· Anesthesia-related continuing education
