Job Title: Advanced Shipfitter (Fitter/Welder)

Employment Type: Contract (2 Years)

Per diem if eligble $140/Per Days worked

Location: Newport News, VA

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced structural fitter to assist in the building of naval aircraft carriers and submarines. The ideal candidate will be skilled in Multipass pass tack welding, blueprint interpretation, and structural assembly in a physically demanding shipyard environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform single and multi pass tack welding using the SMAW process.

• Operate oxygen/propane burning and heating torches.

• Interpret complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.

• Measure and lay off piece parts for fabrication and assembly.

• Assemble structural components to specification.

• Use vibratory tools such as grinders and needle guns.

• Comply with OSHA regulations and safety standards.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
