- Compensation: $18.00-$24.00 per hour
- Worksite Location: Sartell, MN
What you’ll do as the Prior Authorization Specialist: - Work with insurance companies to make sure that prior authorization and referral requirements are met
- Manually verify patient eligibility and coverage for requested services
- Communicate with insurance companies to obtain necessary authorizations
- Ensure compliance with insurance company guidelines and policies
- Maintain accurate records of authorization requests and outcomes, document and track all communication with insurers, providers, and patients
- Assist patients with understanding their insurance coverage and benefits
- Contact patients to advise them of co-payment due at time of service
What you’ll bring to the Prior Authorization Specialist role: - Familiar with insurance policies and procedures, and the ability to use independent judgment in a medical setting
- Ability to maintain a working knowledge of carrier contracts/changes and departmental policies and procedures is required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately review documents
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in using computer systems and software applications
- Experience in Radiology would be a significant plus
