Project Manager

GovCIO is currently seeking a Project Manager to become a subject matter expert on our team. This position is fully remote, full-time and available to candidates within the Continental United States (CONUS). The contract has not been awarded; this position remains unfunded and is contingent upon the award of the contract.

Responsibilities:

GovCIO is seeking a candidate for the position of Project Manager to support the Department of Veterans Affairs BAM Portfolio. The Project Manager will be a hands-on leader who will be responsible for day-to-day direct oversight of 1+ application sustainment/enhancement project(s). Responsibilities include:

• Direct oversight of legacy system sustainment/enhancement/adaptive maintenance project, including supervisory responsibilities for multiple lead roles.
• Leading the team in requirements gathering, enhancements, releases, and ensuring completion of contract deliverables.
• Ensuring Agile/Scrum techniques are being utilized and the project is managed following an Agile Methodology.
• Proactive risk management and escalating all risks to the appropriate persons.
• Engaging with stakeholders at all levels to establish and maintain appropriate stakeholder engagement.
• Engaging with the team to ensure they stay motivated, proactive, and focused.
• Ensuring organized change management throughout the life of the project.
• Ensuring all project needs are met and escalating blockers to program management.
• Participating in interviewing/hiring of replacement or new employees, where appropriate.
• Responsible for the career growth and performance evaluations of all direct reports.

Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's with 2-5 years (or commensurate experience)
• Experience leading a team in an IT system environment
• Experience managing a Scrum/Agile team with experience using Jira
• Experience working with customer to establish requirements, PI Planning and seeing a project move through the software development lifecycle
• Strong problem solving skills
• Competence in Microsoft Suite
• Strong verbal and written skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to step in, where needed

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience working with the VA
• Experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience supporting program goals
• Experience collaborating with other project leaders

Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Posted Pay Range: USD $105,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
