Public Information Officer - Transportation Join the City of Bellevue, Washington as a Public Information Officer - Transportation. Come join the City of Bellevue! Job Summary : Plans and administers public information initiatives and public relations programs to effectively represent the City of Bellevue to the media and the public. Essential Duties And Responsibilities : Defines goals for public engagement, information dissemination and public relations initiatives and programs. Leads public relations for assigned teams and organizes meetings. Analyzes public understanding and advises on methods to inform and educate the community. Produces and coordinates dissemination of information and materials. Prepares and presents written and verbal communications. Coordinates media and helps prepare event plans for public events. Develops and implements strategic communications and public engagement plans. Presents information to the public in a timely and effective manner. Acts as spokesperson and provides prompt, accurate public information during emergency situations. Qualifications : Knowledge of public relations and public engagement techniques and strategies. Knowledge of media relations strategies and web and social media content development. Skill in making persuasive public presentations and listening and responding to residents. Ability to establish effective working relationships and communicate effectively. Ability to manage multiple projects and accomplish goals using sound analytical and decision-making skills. Education, Experience, And Other Requirements : Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in communications, public relations or related field. Four or more years of professional experience involving communicating with the public or other related areas. The City of Bellevue supports workplace diversity.
