Job Title: Communications and Fundraising Coordinator
Location: Remote + 1 day in person (Santa Monica)

Position Summary:
The Communications and Fundraising Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the mission and growth of our organization by enhancing our communication efforts and fundraising capacity. This position involves creating compelling content, managing outreach across multiple platforms, and writing effective grant proposals. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong writing skills and a passion for making an impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Communications:
Develop and distribute a bi-monthly newsletter highlighting updates and stories from Crayon Collection and HoW programming and initiatives.
Create and implement strategies to increase engagement across digital and print communication channels, including social media, email, and the organization’s website.
Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure cohesive messaging and alignment with organizational goals.
Support the planning and execution of communication campaigns, events, and announcements.
Fundraising:
Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission and priorities.
Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals and reports throughout the year.
Track deadlines and maintain a calendar of grant applications and reporting requirements.
Collaborate with leadership and program teams to gather data, metrics and narratives needed for successful funding proposals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management, Fundraising, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in grant writing and knowledge of fundraising best practices.
Proficiency with digital communication tools (e.g., Constant Contact, Canva, WordPress, or similar).
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of or experience with nonprofit organizations, particularly in community development or social justice sectors.
Familiarity with donor databases or CRM systems i.e. DonorPerfect
Graphic design or basic video editing skills.
