What you’ll do:

Position title: SAP iXp Intern - Full Stack Java Cloud Developer

Location:Palo Alto, CA

Working Model: Hybrid

Schedule: 30-40 HR/week

Duration: 6 Months

We are looking for a skilled Full Stack Java Cloud Developer Intern to join our development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining both front-end and back-end components of web applications, with a strong emphasis on Java-based back-end systems and cloud-native development. You should be comfortable working with modern frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, containerization tools, and cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Java / Javascript
  • Build RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, QA, and product teams to deliver high-quality software.
  • Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues.
  • Ensure application security and compliance with best practices.

Technical Skills:

  • Back-End: Java, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, RESTful APIs
  • Front-End: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
  • Databases: MySQL, HANA or similar
  • DevOps & Tools: Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform, Maven/Gradle
  • Testing: JUnit, Mockito, Selenium, Postman
  • Agile: Experience with Scrum or Kanban

Qualifications:

  • Education : Bachelors or Masters degree in a related field. Graduating Seniors/2nd Year Masters highly desirable

  • Eligibility : Must be currently enrolled, or recently graduated (start date must be within 6 months of graduation date) from a coding academy/bootcamp, apprenticeship, associate, bachelor’s, master’s or JD/PhD program

  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns

  • Experience working in cloud environments and deploying cloud-native applications

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with serverless architecture (e.g., AWS Lambda)
  • Knowledge of security best practices (e.g., OAuth2, JWT, SSO)
  • Exposure to monitoring/logging tools (e.g., ELK, Prometheus, Grafana)

The targeted combined range for this position is 15-62 (USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
