Job Description

The Critical Care Float RN is responsible for protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities, as well as preventing illness and injury through effective nursing care. The RN must comply with all standards of practice and demonstrate professional development in accordance with relevant nursing regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.


• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.


• Administer medications safely in accordance with policies.


• Participate in resource utilization, including staffing and time management.


• Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education requirements.


• Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New York State RN License.


• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).


• Critical Care nursing experience of six months to three years.
