**Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)**

**Job Type:** Per Diem, 26-week contracts available through the holiday season

**Shift:** Two 12-hour shifts per 4-week period

**Job Description:**

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) to provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients and their families in a fast-paced emergency department environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and communication skills and be committed to delivering patient-centered care.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Assess patient needs, identify urgent or emergent care priorities, and provide direct patient care in alignment with professional nursing practices.
- Conduct primary and secondary assessments for all age groups, documenting major deviations from the norm and responding with appropriate interventions.
- Establish rapport with patients and families during triage, focusing on comfort needs while ensuring effective communication.
- Implement invasive and non-invasive procedures and therapeutic interventions to effectively manage emergency situations.
- Recognize and address the psychosocial, emotional, and cultural needs of patients and their families, including documentation and reporting any suspicions of domestic violence or abuse.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to promote mutual trust and respect, fostering a positive work environment.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnostic procedures, post-emergency care, and ongoing health management.
- Maintain awareness of and communicate patient conditions throughout their emergency department visit.
- Create a healing environment that acknowledges the patient and family as the central focus of care.

**Qualifications:**

- Current RN Licensure in New York State (NYS).
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least one year in an Emergency Department setting.
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI).
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient care skills, with an emphasis on effective communication.
